Birthday Parties at The Solvang Bakery

At The Solvang Bakery, there’s nothing we like better than a celebration. With big families ourselves, birthdays and holidays are convenient excuses to get together for fun and frivolity.

We are opening up our shop at 438 Alisal Road in Solvang to play host to birthday parties. Let us offload some of the stress (and all of the clean-up!) by providing a great location and entertaining activities for your celebration.

For children’s birthday parties, you can choose to decorate our delicious short dough cookies, or turn our moist cupcakes into mountains of tasty colorful treasure.

We can provide aprons in the color of your choice (and personalize them if you choose).

Of course, we’ll be happy to create a fanciful cake that’s perfectly in step with your party theme.

We have access to a variety of entertainment options – our face painter was a huge hit at this party!

If you want to provide some non-sweet sustenance, it’s easy to bring in pizza from next door, or we can provide sandwiches.

If you have blossoming bakers, we can even host the party at our commercial kitchen in Buellton, where we can work together to bake individual cakes for each of your guests. We’re available every day of the week with a few holiday exceptions. Group size limits will be dependent on day selected and ages of the party goers.

Gingerbread House Holiday Boutiques – for Christmas, Hanukkah, and Winter

We hope you can join us at one of our holiday boutiques this season. They’re wonderful occasions to view a wide assortment of our Christmas and Hanukkah Gingerbread Houses, Gingerbread Barns, Gingerbread Sleighs, and Gingerbread Cookie Jars, as well as our Custom Gingerbread creations.

Gingerbread House Decorating Party – Santa Barbara Magazine, Winter 2011

Every December, we usher in the holiday season, known as Winterfest in the Santa Ynez Valley, with a Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop. Our bakery, which bears a striking resemblance to a gingerbread house itself, is transformed into a holiday workshop filled with wide-eyed little elves squealing with excitement. Few things are more rewarding than watching the utter delight on children’s faces as they adorn their creations with gumdrops and line their rooftops with red licorice. The electricity of that early, contagious holiday spirit powers us through Hanukkah and Christmas as we bake, decorate, and ship hundreds of hand-made edible edifices throughout the country.

Whether near or far, you can join in the gingerbread fun!

$50 per house – includes freshly baked gingerbread house–all decorations, icing, and candy, plus one hot chocolate, coffee, or beverage of your choice
Larger Gingerbread House Kits are available for $100, and Gingerbread Barn Kits for $250
You may choose to decorate one (1) house per person, or one (1) house per family
10% off for three (3) or more houses within same decorating party
First decorating session begins at 11:00 a.m.
Each session lasts for one (1) hour
New sessions begin every hour on the hour until 6:00 p.m. with decorating ending at 7:00 p.m.

Private Gingerbread Decorating Parties in your own home or other location

We drop off all items for decorating gingerbread houses and you take it from there– $50 per house kit plus delivery, or save the delivery charges and you pick up at our retail store ($50 per house)
We set up decorating table with all supplies, stay for the party and assist your guests with decorating, and help wrap houses
- Four (4) hours for $400 plus $50 per gingerbread house kit
- Six (6) houses minimum for private party with Solvang Bakery staff
- Catering also available to add to private party ($30 per person and up)
