FrancesSchultz.com: Frances Schultz, a contributing editor to House Beautiful magazine and former editor-at-large for Veranda, has blessed us with another post on her lively blog. This time it’s all about love – our Gingerbread Love Shacks and more: Read Frances’ post here. See below for more gushing about fabulous Frances!
The Santa Barbara News Press: Our wonderful local paper is in its 158th year, and we had the pleasure of gracing both the front and back covers on the Life section December 2013. Cleverly referring to our new Gingerbread Dog House as ‘Canine Candy’, we’re grateful for their help in announcing our donation to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®.
The Silver Pen: Author Hollye Jacobs was kind enough to post about our Gingerbread Gratitude Wreath this season. We’re excited for her new book, The Silver Lining: A Supportive and Insightful Guide to Breast Cancer to be released in March 2014 (you can pre-order it now)!
National Geographic Kids Magazine: We were thrilled when National Geographic Kids asked us to provide a custom gingerbread house for their December 2013/January 2014 issue. We read the magazine as kids ourselves (back in the Dark Ages when it was National Geographic World), and our own children have loved it as well. Writer/Editor Kay Boatner assembled a delightful food-fact-filled page with our gingerbread house as the centerpiece.
O Magazine: Our Gingerbread Dog House was among the contenders for Oprah’s Favorite Things in 2013. We were asked to send another sample for a photo shoot, but unfortunately missed the final cut. We were honored to be in final consideration from the myriad options Ms. Winfrey has at this time of year! Our Gingerbread Dog House also appears twice in the Behind the Scenes video, click here to view it (we’re at the 16 and 18 second mark).
FrancesSchultz.com: Frances Schultz, a contributing editor to House Beautiful magazine and former editor-at-large for Veranda, is an author, a tastemaker, and a television personality. Did we say personality? She must have been at the front of the line when those were being doled out. Frances is imbued with an extraordinary one. She oozes Southern charm, a well-developed (and sometimes irreverent) sense of humor, and a keen intellect…all encased in a perfectly elegant package.
She has blessed our little bakery with a beautiful post on her delightful blog: read it here.
Santa Barbara Magazine: The Solvang Bakery was featured in the November 2011 issue; The House the Kids Built, written by Sarah Young, and photographed by Elizabeth Messina with a fabulous Gingerbread Decorating party at a private home. The children had a ball!
US Weekly: Our cookies and cake were featured in US Weekly when The Solvang Bakery provided goodies for Harper’s (daughter of USA’s White Collar star Tiffany Thiessen) first birthday. (August 2011)
Soaps In Depth: We’ve created a new partnership with Cookie Kins – they make whimsical cartoon characters, and we make the scrumptious cookies. General Hospital star Laura Wright, gave them as hostess gifts to her fellow Daytime Emmy nominees for Best Actress. (July 2012)
